Submenus

You can have subpages on your website, if you like.

If you want to have a lot of pages on your site, submenus can make it easier for your visitors to find their way around. Psychological studies show that our brains can only handle about seven of anything at once. So, it's best if you can limit the links in your top level menu to about seven – that makes it easier for your visitors to digest.

So, if you need to have more pages than that in your site, it's a good idea to divide them into parent and child pages.

For example, this page this page is a main menu item – a 'parent' page. And the pages you can see in the submenu on the right are its 'child' pages.

Setting up parent and child pages is easy. The main menu will show child pages when someone moves their mouse over the parent page. And if you want you can can also show your submenus in the side, just by selecting the appropriate page template – you can choose whether you want the sidebar to show just the submenu (like this page does), or to show your other sidebar content too (here's an example page to show you that).
