Sidebars

Your Phew! website comes with several different page templates. This allows you to choose, for example, whether you want a page to have a sidebar or not, just by selecting the option from a dropdown menu.

The default template – with sidebar

The default page template for your website has a sidebar. You can use your sidebar for all kinds of things. Here are a few possibilities:

  • A picture of you – or indeed of anything you like
  • Some text – for example a bit of welcome text, or a few words about your latest special offer
  • A call to action – the website package comes with its own call to action widget, which creates the little box you'll see in the sidebar
  • Testimonials from happy customers
  • Small banners or ads
  • Links to related sites

There's one single sidebar for all the pages of your site (so you only have to set up your sidebar content once). There's another sidebar for all your blog pages, which of course you can see in action over at the blog.

Pages without sidebars

Sometimes, though, you may want to have pages on your site that don't have that sidebar. That's no problem. The website package also has a 'no sidebar' page template.  To see what that looks like, have a look at this no-sidebar example page.

The home page

You'll already have seen that there's space at the bottom of the home page for three calls to action, and a testimonial. You can also choose whether you want your sidebar to appear on the homepage.
